Counselling services on the topic of study doubts
Support offered by the Central Student Advisory Service in the area of study doubts.
Digital info lecture "Reorientation in studies - What to consider when changing degree programmes or universities".
The event will take place on Tuesday, 04.07. from 3 to 4 pm via Zoom.
In this information event, students who have doubts about their degree programme and/or are thinking about changing to another degree programme can find out what they need to keep in mind when doing so. The following questions will be discussed:
- What is the difference between changing to an NC degree programme and an NC-free degree programme?
- What do I have to consider when applying for a higher semester?
- What deadlines and dates are important?
While the focus of the lecture is on changing within the range of degree programmes offered by TU Dortmund University, advice will also be given on planning a change of university.

Campus consultation hours of the external counselling network
The Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts (HWK) and the university team of the Employment Agency offer campus consultation hours for students who are thinking about dropping out:
University Team of the Employment Agency Dortmund
The university team of the Employment Agency has moved into its new office on campus (EF68, E23), where the team provides advice on Tuesdays to Thursdays. The main focus of the counselling is on individual counselling in all questions concerning the choice of studies and training. Further information can be found here.
Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce
The IHK campus consultation takes place every last Tuesday of the month from 3 to 4 p.m. in the AStA offices (EF50). Of course, it is also possible to contact the colleagues at any time so that individual counselling sessions can be arranged. There, counselling mainly takes place on vocational training (commercial professions, retail, gastronomy, logistics, IT, technical professions, laboratory professions).
Dortmund Chamber of Skilled Crafts
The HWK's campus consultation hour takes place every last Tuesday of the month from 2 to 3 p.m. in the AStA offices (EF50). Of course, you can also contact the colleagues here at any time so that individual counselling sessions can be arranged. The Dortmund Chamber of Commerce provides advice on apprenticeships and career opportunities in the skilled trades, as well as arranging contacts with suitable training companies.
