Interim Professor of Marketing

Dr. Sören Köcher replaces the Chair of Marketing from April 2024

Dr. Sören Köcher serves as an Interim Professor of Marketing from April 2024. He previously worked as an Interim Professor at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and as an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Marketing at TU Dortmund University.

The focus of his current research activities is on investigating the effect of different marketing instruments on consumers’ decision processes. In particular, he focuses on measures that companies use to market their products and services in digital environments. His research findings have been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Service Research, the Journal of Retailing and the Journal of Consumer Psychology. His work has received awards from the Academy of Marketing Science, the American Marketing Academy and the Verbraucherzentrale NRW, among others. In addition to his work as Area Editor for quantitative research methods for the Journal of Service Management and his membership of the Editorial Review Board of the journal Psychology & Marketing, he regularly serves as an ad hoc reviewer for international journals. His research findings have been reported in leading media such as Süddeutsche Zeitung, Der Spiegel and Welt am Sonntag as well as in broadcasts by ARD, WDR and SWR.
