Awards for department's best theses
In July, TMC Turnaround Management Consult awarded the best theses at the Department of Business and Economics at TU Dortmund University. The selection fell on the two Bachelor graduates Tim Woschko and Anto Josic and the two Master graduates Ronja Kruber and Marina Mardanova. The award winners were selected from all students who wrote their thesis at the Department of Business and Economics at TU Dortmund University in the academic year 2020/21. The award is linked to prize money of €1,000 each donated by TMC. TMC is a leading consulting firm for restructuring and reorganization consulting, insolvency-related consulting and interim management in the SME sector. It would like to use the prize to promote talent and support qualification in the field of economics at the TU Dortmund University. The award winners are joined by their supervising professors Ralf Gössinger (Production Management and Logistics), Christiane Pott (International Accounting and Auditing), Manuel Wiesche (Digital Transformation) and Galina Zudenkova (Public Economics).
The award-winning papers address a wide range of issues in business administration and economics. Tim Woschko dealt with the topic "Impairment according to IAS 39 - Influence of COVID-19 on the occasion-related impairment test according to IFRS accounting. Resulting problems and requirements for the preparer of financial statements". Anto Josic wrote his bachelor thesis on the topic "The mutual dependencies between partner and platform operator". Ronja Kruber's master's thesis dealt with "Modeling Rabin Fairness with Heterogeneous Players". Marina Mardanova has taken on the topic of "Design and evaluation of a method combination of simulation and a multi-level artificial neural network to support flow scheduling in the use case of bulk material processing".
