Business A: Accounting and Finance

This study profile provides a comprehensive understanding of central corporate processes in the areas of finance, accounting, controlling and taxation - both nationally and internationally. 

Students can deepen their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Finance: In-depth knowledge of modern econometric instruments and methods for risk management. Current developments such as data analysis, artificial intelligence and sustainability are also taken into account.
  • International Accounting and Auditing: Examination of financial and non-financial reporting and the fundamentals of auditing. The influence of digitalization and topics such as corporate social responsibility and corporate governance are also explored.

  • Management Accounting and Control: in-depth knowledge of analytical and digital controlling, expansion of traditional financial controlling to include challenges in international controlling and applications of controlling in operational functional areas.
     
  • Corporate Taxation: Comprehensive insights into national and international corporate taxation. In particular, the topics of sales tax and income tax, as well as EU standards to be observed, are covered.

A close connection to actual business practice is ensured through the use of real-world data, events with business partners and guest lectures. Working with current research results and scientific methods also prepares students for an academic career.
