The professorship Digital Transformation presented a paper at the Digitalisation Research and Network Meeting (DigiMeet) 2025. The main theme of DigiMeet 2025 was ‘Platform Governance & Power: Between control, ethics and societal dynamics’.
A screenshot captures an online video conference titled "DigiMeet 2025." The main area of the screen displays a presentation slide, while a sidebar on the right shows the video feeds of the participants. The slide has a white background. In the top left corner are the logos for "tu dortmund university," "dt digital transformation," and "universität innsbruck." Below this is the event title "DigiMeet 2025." The main title of the presentation is in large, green text: "The Gatekeeper's Gambit: How Platforms Strategically Adapt to the Digital Markets Act." Listed below the title are the authors and their affiliations: "Vincent Heimburg (TU Dortmund University), Victorine Verlooy (University of Innsbruck), Maximilian Schreieck (University of Innsbruck) and Manuel Wiesche (TU Dortmund University)." In the lower part of the slide, there is a funding notice: "This research was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) - 521353095 and Austrian Science Fund (FWF) - 10.55776/I6567." On the right side of the slide is a stylized, gray graphic of a high-rise building bearing the "TU" logo on its roof. The right-hand sidebar shows six participants in a vertical grid view. From top to bottom, they are: "Vincent Heimburg (TU Dortmund)," a man in front of a bookshelf; "Matthias C. Kettemann (HI...) Hamburg," a man with glasses, also in front of a bookshelf; "Dietmar Kemmerer (WI)," a man in a shirt in front of a light wall; "Tamas Pongo (Szeged University)," a man in a plaid shirt; "Sophia Salziger (Groningen Univ...)," a woman with blonde hair; and "Lama Ranjous," displayed as a black box with white text. © Vincent Heimburg/TU Dortmund

Vincent Heimburg presented the following work-in-progress paper at the online event: "The Gatekeeper's Gambit: How Platforms Strategically Adapt to the Digital Markets Act." The study provides new insights into current developments in digital transformation.

The work-in-progress paper is co-authored by Victorine Verlooy (University of Innsbruck), Maximilian Schreieck (University of Innsbruck) & Manuel Wiesche.

The Digitalisation Research and Network Meeting (DigiMeet) was launched in 2021 by the Weizenbaum Institute, the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt) and the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) to provide doctoral and postdoctoral students with an English-language, international platform for presenting research results and ideas for collaborative projects, as well as for networking in the dynamic field of interdisciplinary digitalisation research. DigiMeet consists of a mix of open formats, programme speeches and traditional conference panels with thematic restrictions.

The presentations and discussions provided us with many exciting experiences and insights, as well as new and interesting contacts.
