In a recent interview with the Handelsblatt, Prof. Dr. Lorenz Graf-Vlachy explains the results of his latest study, which shows that the use of cognitively complex language in start-up pitches leads to a significant increase in financing success.

The study, which he conducted together with co-authors from the University of Passau and the Technical University of Munich, was published in the scientific journal "Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice". Mr. Graf-Vlachy emphasizes that the often given advice "keep it simple" in the context of start-up pitches does not necessarily lead to the best results. On the contrary: a differentiated and nuanced approach can lead to significantly higher investments within the first year after the pitch.
