Internationalization Award of the TU Dortmund University 2025

This year's winners of the TU Dortmund University Internationalization Award in the field of administration are Dr. Debra Hanning (Department of Business and Economics) and Frigga Göckede (Department of Mechanical Engineering).

Dr Hanning, Erasmus+ Coordinator at our department, was honored for her outstanding commitment to internationalization and the Erasmus+ program. This was in recognition of her achievements, which included the further development of digital information on the Erasmus+ program for different target groups, the introduction of new target group-specific information events and individual advice and support for students and staff. Dr Hanning is also a member of the department's internationalization task force, making an important and lasting contribution to strengthening its international orientation.

The award ceremony took place on October 27, 2025 as part of the 29th Gambrinus Forum at 18:00 at the Westfälischer Industrieklub in Dortmund. The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Manfred Bayer, President of TU Dortmund University. Prof. Dr. Tessa Flatten (Vice-President International Affairs) presented the certificates to the award winners and then led a short discussion.

Outstanding commitment to internationalization at TU Dortmund University was also awarded in three other categories:

  • Teaching: Prof. Dr. Angela Madeo (Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering)
  • Research: Prof. Dr. Matthias Faes (Department of Mechanical Engineering)
  • Transfer category: vGreens Holding GmbH

The internationalization prize for the area of administration is endowed with €1,500 and is shared by the departments of Business and Economics and Mechanical Engineering.

The department would like to congratulate Dr. Hanning on this recognition. We see the award as an incentive and confirmation to resolutely continue our commitment to promoting internationalization.
