TMC Turnaround Management Consult awarded prizes for the best theses at the faculty. The awards went to B.Sc. Negin Ghaffaripour and B.Sc. Ole Zabolitzky, as well as M.Sc. Bilal Moujahid and M.Sc. Lea Saphörster.

The winners were selected from all students who wrote their theses at the TU Dortmund Faculty of Business and Economics during the 2024/2025 academic year. The award includes a cash prize of €1,000 each, donated by TMC.

TMC is a leading consulting firm specializing in restructuring and reorganization for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With this award, the company aims to promote talent and support business education at TU Dortmund University. The Chair of Management Accounting and Control organized the award ceremony and also collaborates with Turnaround Management Consult on the course "Controlling in Sanierung."

Celebrating alongside the winners are their supervisors: Prof. Dr. Tessa Flatten (Technology Management), Prof. Dr. Lorenz Graf-Vlachy (Strategic Management and Leadership), Professor Dr. Andreas Hoffjan (Management Accounting and Control), and Prof. Dr. Steffen Strese (Innovation Management).

The winning theses covered a broad spectrum of topics:

  • Negin Ghaffaripour: Impact of the Circular Economy on Corporate Performance – A Systematic Literature Review

  • Bilal Moujahid: Application of Artificial Intelligence in Cross-Company Value Chains: Potentials, Challenges, and Implementation

  • Lea Saphörster: Prompt Engineering in Cost and Management Accounting – A Structured Derivation of (Maximally) Effective Prompts

  • Ole Zabolitzky: Remote Leadership: The Role of Emotional Intelligence for Effective Leadership in the Context of Virtual Teams
