Farewell to Professor Richter

Professor Hermann Richter has been a member of the Department of Business and Economics at TU Dortmund University for many years. In 1982, he graduated from the University of Dortmund with a degree in business administration, in 1987 he received his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) and he habilitated in 2001.

Professor Richter has lead the teaching area of Business Accounting at our department since 2011 while also holding the Chair of General Business Administration at Bielefeld University. He has now taken his well-deserved retirement at TU Dortmund University. We thank Professor Richter very much for his commitment to our department. For almost forty years he taught at TU Dortmund University, first as a doctoral student, then as an associate professor and as an academic senior councillor. Generations of students have taken the accounting course taught by Professor Richter. In the Master's program, students taking the module "Indicator-based Corporate Control and Risk Management" hold him in high esteem. Professor Richter has helped to raise the profile of our department in Dortmund and Westphalia, especially among employers. We very much hope that Professor Richter will continue to support us in word and deed in the future. We wish Professor Richter all the best for the new phase of his life and above all much health, energy and creative drive in the coming years.
