The department is very pleased that Professor Max Pflitsch, who has been with us as a junior professor since August 2024, will take up the professorship of “International Business Taxation” on July 1, 2025.

Prior to his appointment in Dortmund, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His studies initially took him to the University of Bonn and the University of Ottawa, Canada, before he completed his doctorate at the University of Cologne. During his doctoral and postdoctoral studies, he completed research stays at the Business School of the University of Wisconsin Madison, USA.

In his research, Max Pflitsch focuses in particular on questions of international corporate taxation and tax avoidance, the evaluation of tax reforms, and interdisciplinary issues, for example at the interface between taxation and accounting. His work in these areas has been published in high-ranking international journals such as Management Science and the National Tax Journal.
