Reports in the Financial Times and Handelsblatt on multi-CEOs
Lorenz Graf-Vlachy and Simon Hensellek from TU Dortmund University, together with Patrick Haack from HEC Lausanne, have published a study on multi-CEOs in the journal Academy of Management Discoveries. In the article, the authors focus on the careers of four prominent CEOs who manage several independent companies at the same time. They examine, for example, how multi-CEO arrangements develop and how they are given legitimacy by central stakeholders.
The Financial Times and Handelsblatt have picked up on the study and written their own articles on it. In the report "Is being a multi-CEO more trouble than it's worth?", the Financial Times looks at the challenges for and typical characteristics of multi-CEOs that were highlighted by the researchers.
In its article "What strategies multi-CEOs like Elon Musk use to lead companies", Handelsblatt also looks at the characteristics of CEOs who lead several companies. It applies these findings to Oliver Blume, who currently heads Volkswagen and Porsche.
