Intercultural competence, personal development - and an unforgettable experience.

A stay abroad during your studies offers a range of benefits for students. In addition to unforgettable moments and great experiences, students expand their intercultural skills, develop language skills and improve their career opportunities.

Students can take advantage of the European Union's Erasmus+ funding program - the largest mobility program at TU Dortmund University. The programme offers organizational and financial support for a stay abroad - in addition to regular funding, a range of special grants are also available.

More about the Erasmus+ program at TU Dortmund University

The Department of Business Administration and Economics works with over 30 partner universities in 16 European countries. Applications for the winter semester 25/26 and summer semester 26 are possible between December 1, 2024 and January 15, 2025. You can find out more on our homepage and at the information event "WiWi goes International" in mid-November (more information on this event will follow soon).

Students can also gain intercultural experience on campus. In addition to the program of the International Office, the department's Buddy Program offers the opportunity to establish international contacts. In this program, WiWi students look after exchange students and help them to settle in well in Dortmund and at the department. Participants in the Buddy Program can also apply for the department's Erasmus+ program before the current deadline.

Internationally interested students can get involved in the Erasmus Student Network Dortmund. These are students from Dortmund who support exchange students in Dortmund at regular meetings and events. You can find out more about the ESN Dortmund on their homepage and via Instagram.

In addition to an Erasmus semester abroad, there are many other opportunities to gain experience abroad. These include, for example, semesters abroad outside of Europe, internships (these can also be partially funded by Erasmus) and short programs. Those interested can find out more on the pages of the International Office.
