Additional information on the seminar "Financial Market Modeling":
The seminar "Financial Market Modeling" examines the link between financial markets and urban economic dynamics in the context of political decisions.
In the project "City Vision 2050 - Designing the Future", participants simulate economic policy measures in the virtual city of Visionopolis in order to analyze the interactions between households, companies and public institutions in the financial market context. Participants learn how to strategically plan economic policy measures and assess their impact in a dynamic environment characterized by uncertainty.
As part of the seminar, students take part in several simulation rounds in which they make strategic action decisions for an assigned city district in a digital simulation game environment. They analyze the effects of their measures and document the results in a scientifically sound group report. Finally, the students present the strategies and findings they have developed.
By combining theory, simulation-based practice and interdisciplinary analysis, the seminar provides a deep understanding of financial market mechanisms and their impact on urban actors.
