Conference presentation of the Junior Professorship at at RENT 2025 in Enschede

The Junior Professorship Entrepreneurship and Digitalization presented at the 2025 Research in Entrepreneurship and Small Business (RENT) Conference, which was held this year under the theme “Responsible Entrepreneurship & Technology – Combining the Local and the Global.” The conference was hosted by the University of Twente in Enschede.

The focus was on the paper “Catalyst or Constraint? Exploring How the Gender of Angel Investors Affects Securing Venture Capital Funding”.

In our gender homophily paper, we examine whether an initial financing round through angel investments—when characterized by gender-homophily constellations—acts as a signal that shapes the likelihood of securing a second round of funding.
