Professor Christiane Pott will be the new Dean of the Department of Business and Economics from October 1, 2025. The Department Council elected her on June 25 together with Vice Dean Professor Galina Zudenkova. Professor Manuel Wiesche remains Dean of Studies.

Professor Pott succeeds Professor Strese as dean, who has held the position since 2023. During his tenure, the Department of Business and Economics has continued its course of renewal in order to better fulfill its integrative role within the university, the University Alliance Ruhr and the region. Two major teaching projects were successfully completed, with the reaccreditation of the Bachelor's/Master's degree course in Business and Economics and the introduction of the new Business Informatics degree course. In research, the department continued its successful path with a wide range of research collaborations and university-wide projects.

Professor Strese is joined in his departure by Professor Jung, who served as the department's vice dean for finance for the past two years. The department extends its sincere thanks to both professors for their dedicated and highly collaborative cooperation.

The new dean, Professor Christiane Pott, was appointed to the Professorship for International Accounting and Auditing at TU Dortmund University in 2013. Galina Zudenkova, the new vice dean of Finance, joined TU Dortmund University in 2019 and holds the Professorship for Public Economics. Professor Manuel Wiesche, holder of the Professorship for Digital Transformation, continues to represent the interests of teaching as Dean of Studies.

The newly constituted team of the dean and vice deans comes into office at the right time to continue the successful course to date and to set its own priorities.
