Welcome Prof. Dr. Andreas Lichter

Prof. Dr. Andreas Lichter has held the Chair of International Economics since September 1, 2024.

Before joining TU Dortmund, Andreas worked as Assistant Professor for Applied Microeconomics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. He received his doctorate from the University of Cologne in 2016 and worked as Post Doc at IZA-Institute of Labor Economics before joining Düsseldorf in 2018. Andreas has spent extended research visits at École Polytechnique in Paris and University College London. He is member of the research networks of CESifo, CReAM and IZA and part of the standing committee on Population Economics of the Verein für Socialpolitik.

Andreas’ research focuses on policy-relevant questions at the intersection of urban, labor, international and public economics. Among others, his work has been published in the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, the Journal of the European Economic Association and the Journal of Public Economics.
